I encounter the same problem here. I've installed the virtualenvwrapper package
as one of my collages requested it. Because most of my collages do not use
virtualenvwrapper here, the action caused by the script would be puzzling for
them.
I'd like to ask you to take into account the case that a host has many
(non-system) users who do not use virtualenvwrapper.
For a while, I will use the following workaround:
# dpkg-divert --divert /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh \
--rename /etc/bash_completion.d/virtualenvwrapper
