However, I believe that we already have a much more elegant solution prepared in our GIT tree (targeted post-freeze): http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-games/zsnes.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/fortify-source.patch;hb=HEAD Instead of merely undefining _FORTIFY_SOURCE, it actually fixes to code to allow it to get compiled with that flag.
