Package: binutils Version: 2.16.1cvs20050902-1 Severity: important Binutils in testing (2.16.1?) is unusable on alpha with gcc-4.0 as it cannot assemble most things gcc spits out. so after upgrading to this version, I find that when linking, ld appears to hang. Links that took 15 minutes I have let run for a hour before I killed them. Small programs seem to link relatively normally.
So, 2.16.1 as in testing is broken with gcc this one infinite loops on some programs -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: alpha Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2-smp Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages binutils depends on: ii libc6.1 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an binutils recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
