  Can you attach some network log of one of these events? (You can
get it on Tools menu, Log window option).

  As a workaround you may try to set the socket timeout from 60
seconds to something lower which makes it a bit more responsive
in the case you're observing. You can find this on Configuration
menu, Common preferences option, Details tab, Advanced subtab.

  I guess you mean on Sylpheed... anyway the IMAP part is pretty
different, Claws-Mail relies on libetpan while Sylpheed has its
own implementation in its internal libsylph.

  If you have a piece of log of the Thinderbird's IMAP dialog in
the same situation, please attach them too.
