Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 3.4.0-2 Severity: normal Tags: upstream
Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? The program works fine, except for the brightness option. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I played with the sysfs interface, (/sys/class/backlight/) and y tried to adjust the brightness manually by the intel specific driver, but that doesn't work on my computer. I Played with the cmpc-based interface (/sys/class/backlight/cmpc) and I changed the display brightness using the second interface. * What was the outcome of this action? The brightness slider in the power management options in gnome doesn't work (doesn't changes the display brightness). * What outcome did you expect instead? I want to control the display brightness by the power management... I am not a native english speaker so the text can be bad. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-power-manager depends on: ii consolekit 0.4.5-3.1 ii dbus-x11 1.6.8-1 ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.12.1-3 ii dpkg 1.16.9 ii gconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 3.2.5-1+build1 ii gnome-settings-daemon 3.4.2+git20120925.a4c817-2 ii libc6 2.13-37 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.33.12+really2.32.4-3 ii libgtk-3-0 3.4.2-4 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ii libupower-glib1 0.9.17-1 ii notification-daemon 0.7.6-1 ii upower 0.9.17-1 gnome-power-manager recommends no packages.
