Package: canto Version: 0.7.9-1 Severity: normal Hi,
it has a little problem with Unicode. Obvious that python based, so it is pretty difficult to code those thing. Unicode and python are really an annoying point. The last python is better for that, but still it does not work transparently like it should. That's python nothing to do about it :( Good Luck Best Wishes Exception in thread Thread-3: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.6/threading.py", line 532, in __bootstrap_inner self.run() File "/usr/lib/canto/canto/canto_fetch.py", line 275, in run self.log_func("Updating %s" % self.fd.tags[0]) File "/usr/lib/canto/canto/canto_fetch.py", line 162, in log_func print x UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe0' in position 23: ordinal not in range(128) -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages canto depends on: ii libc6 2.11.3-3 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libncursesw5 5.7+20100313-5 shared libraries for terminal hand ii python 2.6.6-3+squeeze6 interactive high-level object-orie ii python-chardet 2.0.1-1 universal character encoding detec ii python-feedparser 4.1-14 Universal Feed Parser for Python ii python-support 1.0.10 automated rebuilding support for P canto recommends no packages. canto suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
