After using machine for several hours desktop files are moved to other locations. Dragging a file ends with desktop progress window showing progress but frozen. Files do not appear where they should be. Desktop is frozen. Open terminal and 'top'. 'gvfs-metadata' is from about 10% to 60% CPU. Issue command 'kill (ID) gvfs-metadata'.
