Package: libuuid1 Version: 2.20.1-5.2 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, while trying to test the new ia32-libs packages with piuparts I noticed that /var/lib/libuuid/ disappears in the following sequence: * setup minimal amd64 chroot (contains libuuid1:amd64 priority=required) * dpkg --add-architecture i386 * apt-get install libuuid1:i386 * apt-get purge libuuid1:i386 This may be a more widespread M-A issue ... I don't know what /var/lib/libuuid/ is being used for ... but removing it may cause something to malfunction, therefore severity serious. For creating/removing the directory properly, I'd suggest to ship the directory in the package (so dpkg will create it and remove it once the reference count drops to zero), the postinst just needs to set the proper permissions. I can't give advice for purging, depends on who creates something below /var/lib/libuuid/ and what this is exactly.
