The problem appears to be that a number of Amanda man pages hard-code the value 'amandabackup' instead of taking the --with-user value defined in the configure process. I've done the "simple" thing which is to just walk the source tree doing a global search and replace of amandabackup with backup in all files that are relevant on Debian. A better long-term solution would be to modify the sources to actually use the username provided during configure, but I'm not up for doing the work on that today... Bdale
