Not strictly what i asked but lets go with that as being a "yes" then.

This isn't relevant nor helpful :)

The bug sounds like pulse isn't using the right controls for your
soundcard to modify the volume. Can you post the output of amixer -c 0
(assuming your soundcard is alsa card 0) both with the pulseaudio volume
set to various levels?
