Hello,
As reported in the debian-ia64 list back in March [1], Iceweasel 10.0
randomly stops responding, eating 100% CPU. There's no really a simple
scenario to reproduce this issue: normal web browsing activity
eventually ends up with Iceweasel stops responding and eating 100%
CPU.
Latest 100% working Iceweasel was 9.0.1-1.
None of the successive Iceweasel 10.0.xesr releases that entered
Testing solved this issue.
Iceweasel 10.0~b2-1 (first Iceweasel 10.0 available for ia64) already
exhibit this issue.
I can't check if this issue is still present in Iceweasel 16.0 in Sid
as it simply crashes at startup at the moment.
It's noteworthy that Firefox 10.0.6 in Gentoo ia64 also has this
problem. It thus probably relies upstream.
I really would like to help further with hg bisect, but don't
understand in the Firefox development process [2] how to find the
correspondences of the mozilla-release's FIREFOX_9_0_1_RELEASE and
FIREFOX_10_0_RELEASE tags in mozilla-central to start the bisection.
Any suggestion and advice welcome.
