Package: menu-xdg
Version: 0.5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Hi, i'm an avid linux/debian user of x years and have noticed alot of
broken links get made when dragging/dropping items from the desktop
menu.

I came across a debian maintainer that didnt know it's totally
legitimate and easily configurable to drag/drop from gnome-classic
and I believe, though not a default setting, should still be bug-free
for the upcoming release of wheezy..

Simply put, there's at least all of the libreoffice links that fail to
get created and I notified that package team-- i believe the problem
may be deeper, so i decided to pass the concern to the devscripts
maintainers as well..

gnome-classic's can perform/allow the user to dragNdrop from the menu, by
  enabling the following..
 To enable drag/drop,
   from menu-> Systemtools/Preferences/Advanced Settings
in Advanced settings, it'll be the first toggle item
( relogin to the GUI may be necessary to start seeing
default icons like 'Computer' and 'home')

Drag and drop is now possible with gnome-classic, and you can now test
 what i see..

Libreoffice .desktop shortcuts fail to be created from the menu onto
 the desktop

Xfce .desktop shortcuts fail (The debian submenu can be enabled, and these links
 are found from Debian/Help)

I made short videos illustrating these problems if they do not occur for
others..

Running 'Application Finder' exactly the same .desktop links fail for the above
 mentioned items..

(someone reported that libreoffice links onto the desktop from the menu also fail
in xfce desktop environment, which lead me to report to menu-xdg)
