I fear there is nothing I can do for you. The current version is in
unstable, and users can easily install it directly from CRAN -- which has ~
4000 packages of which we have maybe 150 in Debian. So people are used to
mixing and matching.
If this version in testing/stable does not mesh with the rest of
testing/stable, I'd say let us remove it. The next one will fill in.
