Package: smartmontools Version: 5.41+svn3365-1 Severity: normal
After upgrading (unfortunately, don't know from which version), my cronjobs stopped working, all using -t select, cont+SIZE syntax as described in the manual, e.g: # smartctl -t select,cont+35651584 /dev/sdd =======> INVALID ARGUMENT TO -t: select,cont+35651584 =======> VALID ARGUMENTS ARE: offline, short, long, conveyance, vendor,N, select,M-N, pending,N, afterselect,[on|off], scttempint,N[,p] <======= =======> Option -t select,M-N must have non-negative integer M and N However, the cont+SIZE syntax is clearly described in the manual and did work for some months before I upgraded. Een the next+SIZE examples form the manual give similar error messages. /dev/sdd in the above example is a SATA disk connected to the motherboard ahci controller, i.e. nothing exotic. -- Package-specific info: Output of /usr/share/bug/smartmontools: -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages smartmontools depends on: ii debianutils 4.3.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.13-35 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcap-ng0 0.6.4-1 An alternate posix capabilities li ii libgcc1 1:4.7.1-7 GCC support library ii libselinux1 2.1.9-5 SELinux runtime shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.7.1-7 GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian7 Linux Standard Base 4.1 init scrip Versions of packages smartmontools recommends: ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20111106cvs-1 simple mail user agent Versions of packages smartmontools suggests: pn gsmartcontrol <none> (no description available) pn smart-notifier <none> (no description available) -- Configuration Files: /etc/smartd.conf changed [not included] -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
