The default wallpaper contains basically gray, almost desaturated version of the Debian swirl. I don't think this is a good default for the progressbar. The default splash screen which would be more adequate source of theming for bootsplash does include the debian swirl in more traditional colour. Ubuntu has a version of the text plugin that is supposed to have these colours customizable. Unfortunately, Ubuntu's plymouth or kernel is severely broken and the splash is not shown.
