Source: xz-utils Version: 5.1.1alpha+20120614-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream patch fixed-upstream
Please consider the following fixes from 5.1.2alpha (aka patches man-date, man-xz-lvv-minver, xz-lvv-empty-block-minver, decoder-check-first-0x00 from debian/patches in commit c3301d0d of the packaging repo): The documentation "xz --robot -lvv" format leaves out the "minimum version required to decompress" field. "xz -lvv" reports that version 5.0.3 of liblzma is the minimum version of xz that can decompress files with blocks with zero uncompressed_size, but 5.0.2 works. liblzma tolerates malformed range encoded data with 0x00 as first byte instead of erroring out. The first is just a documentation bugfix, but it's low-risk. The second and third make Debian xz match upstream more closely without introducing new interfaces. Other patches from 5.1.2alpha (example-usage, xz-block-list, build-doc-symvers, configure-clarify-symvers, doc-threads-and-fork, version-5.1.2, news-5.1.2) are not urgent so let's stick to these three for now.
