Sorry - that was from the host machine. Host's machine ifquery -l returns "lo" only.

This is the guest machine:

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
#iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
#NetworkManager#iface eth0 inet dhcp


But even if I add "auto eth0" line it doesn't seem to make any difference. It still returns nothing:

# ifquery --list
# ifquery eth0
Unknown interface eth0
