No, ASM 2.0 and 2.1 are binary imcompatible to 1.5.x. Its not possible to update this package to 2.x. The new upstream version needs to get packaged on its own as separate package as many applications/libraries still depend on ASM 1.5.x. Wolfgang Baer is working on this already. It just needs some time.
