As you can see, the original bug reporter can no longer reproduce this
issue [1]. I thus closed this particular bug report.
Your problem seems to be something different not related with the
original bug report.

And yes, I use a dual monitor setup (Intel HD3000, sandy bridge)
successfully every day (internal display + 24" external LCD display).
I usually have the "mirror" option turned off, but I just tested it,
too, and it runs equally fine.
