My version of dash

dash                                   0.5.7-3

I was building it with 'debuild -us -uc'
it still fails with dash

Building with 'dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc' or
'dpkg-buildpackage -D -us -uc' works just fine with bash or dash.

sorry, but i can't confirm this: all my local builds work fine
with dash as /bin/sh; the build-daemons also use dash and
the nmh build worked on all of them...

that makes no sense because dash properly understands -c,  just as
POSIX mandates.

could you provide a bit more info, please: how *precisely* are you trying
to build nmh? what's your dash version?

To sysadmin or not to sysadmin... that is the question, whether tis nobler
in the minde to suffer the slings and arrowes of outragious fortune, or
climb to the top of the building with a fucking high-power rifle and scope.
