That is true.
The idea was to upload the new upstream release, 2.1.11, to testing
with the fix for this bug applied.

No way to do it as it stands, but we discussed this problem with
Rhonda, and agreed on that I'll prepare 2.1.10-3 targetting testing
with the only fix to this bug applied, then we'll ask for a freeze
exception.
The diff [1] is not terribly large but not trivial either, but at least
we could try.  If this fails, I could try to just add a dependency on
erlang-xmerl as a palliative measure and ask for exception once again.
