Dear Jérôme, What about putting your package under collaborative maintenance in by the Debian Science Team? See: http://debian-science.alioth.debian.org/debian-science-policy.html It may then be easier for you to find a sponsor within the team. I can help you with that (setting up a git repository on alioth and all) but I can't sponsor you (yet).
