Given that this bug is already fixed (in apt), I don't see a pressing need to work around this in sbuild. It will be fixed in wheezy. We can't add this to stable at this point. Still, thanks very much for your work on the patch. I'm going to leave the bug open for the time being in case there is a need to backport the patch to stable-backports or the buildds.
