Package: live-config Followup-For: Bug #604631 I just came across this exact same problem outside of systemd. The issue was that I was using lxc from Wheezy with an old kernel (2.6.32). When the kernel was upgraded to 3.2.0 from Wheezy, the entire issue simply went away.
So the problem could just be a mismatch between older kernel and too recent of userspace.
