Hello, I have same problem when using biber, and indeed having biber 0.9.9 and biblatex 1.7 in sid, and biber 1.0 beta and biblatex 2.0 beta in experimental sound best for me.
I consider this problem really important, because I need biber for my Master thesis which I just need finishing. Thanks.
