I finally got around to trying out the interdiff based idea we talked
about around a month ago.

I pushed the prototype to

  git://pivot.cs.unb.ca/gitpkg.git

"git debcherry -v -I upstream master" is typical call

At least in a few simple cases it seems work ok.

Here is test case, with a partially applied applied patch

     git://git.debian.org/git/debian-science/packages/nauty.git

     branches test-master and test-upstream

The patch was regenerated using the "git-refresh" script also included
with my modified gitpkg.

I have not updated the man pages, nor integrated the git-debcherry
script into the quilt export hook; that needs some decision about
syntax.
