Hi! I'm the maintainer of synergy for Debian. The bug you filed against gedit was forwarded to me to look at.
Have you still been having the problem? If so, which versions of synergy are you running client-side and server-side? If I read the bug correctly, gedit is dying on the server side; what system is running on the client? There's an experimental version of synergy available in the "experimental" package repository.
