I do have an /etc/X11/xorg.conf, when trying to use the NVIDIA driver I enable the nvidia driver, when trying to use Nouveau I enable the nouveau driver -- and reboot. I know this is sort of obvious but in this situation I think worth saying explicitly. I did an lsmod and the nouveau driver was loaded when it should be and the nvidia driver when it should be and the other was not loaded when one was -- does that make sense? In all situations to date SSH access via the network connection is unaffected. Also the virtual terminals Alt+F2 etc. were available. -- Russel. ============================================================================= Dr Russel Winder t: +44 20 7585 2200 voip: sip:russel.win...@ekiga.net 41 Buckmaster Road m: +44 7770 465 077 xmpp: rus...@winder.org.uk London SW11 1EN, UK w: www.russel.org.uk skype: russel_winder
