Here's a fun trick:
$ ri<TAB>
ri ri1.8
$ ri <TAB>
$ ri<TAB>
ri ri1.8 ri_get_methods
ri is the only completion script that works this way. There's a patch
at the link mentioned above. Filing so I don't forget about it.
