When setting DebugLevel to 5, which - according to the comment in
configuration file - mean: for debugging (produces lots of information)
zabbix-agent does not start.
/etc/init.d/zabbix-agent start simply doesn't start without any message.
Running zabbig-agentd by hand results with message:
zabbix_agentd [4437]: Wrong value for [DebugLevel] in line 58.
root@xen3:~# grep DebugLevel /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf
DebugLevel=5
Problem exists both in stable release, as in current unstable - 1:1.8.11-1.
