Quoting Alessandro Ghedini <al3x...@gmail.com>:
It sounds pretty weird.
Agreed, but at the moment I see no other possibility.
How is libcurl used in this setup anyway (i.e.
what are its reverse dependencies installed)?
I think the answer to that question would be:
apt-spy
asterisk
git
php5-curl
qemu-kvm
Asterisk is the only active daemon here. The last one, qemu-kvm, is
installed, but currently there are no virtual machines running.
However, I'm not sure this list is completely accurate. To an extent,
I used apt-rdepends to generate this list, but it also listed many
packages that are not installed on the system in question. So, any
suggestions you might have to generate an accurate list of reverse
dependencies would be welcome.
Are those libcurl based applications runned
regularly?
Of the above packages, only asterisk runs continuously on this system.
The others have not been run since before the update of libcurl3 and
libcurl3-gnutls.
When was the last time you updated this system?
After the update involving libcurl3 and libcurl3-gnutls on 31 March,
there were several other updates on the 2nd (which included a kernel
update), the 4th and the 6th of April. However, I don't see how they
can have anything to do with the problem, since the errors started
immediately after the update on the 31st.
Are you sure the issue was really caused by the
libcurl upgrade and not, say, by a temporary issue
in an unrelated software ...
Well, if so, such a problem would have had to start just minutes after
the update I performed on the 31st. It seems unlikely.
... (i.e. can you you reproduce the problem if you
upgrade libcurl again in this moment)?
Sounds logical. Upgrading, testing... [12 hours pass]
It seems that I am unable to reproduce the problem; the issue has
apparently resolved itself. My apologies for having needlessly sounded
the alarm. Next time I will make sure I can reproduce the error before
filing a bug report. Thanks for your help.
