Package: nm.debian.org Severity: wishlist Debian New Maintainers Guide - prefer dch for editing changelog file
In the doc 'Debian New Maintainers Guide' (http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/dreq.en.html#changelog) two methods of editing changelog are described (dch and an standard editor). the latter sounds easier for a novice as me but I had to learn that it should be recommended to use dch instead. Such a recommendation would prevent newbies from running into the wrong direction and save them much time. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-bpo.2-amd64 (SMP w/6 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
