tags 289671 + wontfix thanks I understand the importance of the switch to libdb4.3, but gnucash must continue to use libdb3, because some of its dependencies (basically all of Gnome 1) do. In theory it would be possible for gnucash-docs to use libdb4.3 and for gnucash to use libdb3, but the relevant -dev libraries conflict (as they necessarily must), and it is a maintenance nightmare to have conflicting build dependencies for these two so closely related packages.
