A new gnucash with the fix for this bug is on its way. You can avoid this bug by unchecking "accumulate splits" when posting the bill, so I'm downgrading the severity to normal. >From what I gather from upstream, once you have the fixed gnucash in place, you need to delete the bogus transactions that were created by the bug, and post new ones.
