There are some really old and major bugs outstanding for the netatalk package in Debian, so these might be fixed already for ages by the 2.0.x tree of netatalk. While doing "/etc/init.d/netatalk stop" I got: start-stop-daemon: stat /usr/sbin/a2boot: No such file or directory This file doesn't seem to be compiled and included by your package, so you can safely remove the call, I think. It isn't even mentioned on the home page for the 2.0.x package of netatalk. I'll will do more testing today and in two weeks, so I hope, I can give a more detailed report then.
