Package: torcs Version: 1.2.2-5 Severity: important
Everything works fine in TORCS until I finally start to race. Then a bunch of dots appear on the screen and the UI becomes verrrry slow to respond. In fact it's effectively useless. The frame rate according to the display is 0.1 frames/s, but it's closer to one frame every twenty seconds. It's like it's not using hardware accelleration, but hardware accelleration is definitely available, because Tux Racer works fine. I have Pentium III 450 with an ATI Rage 128. Tux Racer runs fine at 5 or 10 frames/s. I guess TORCS could be two hundred times slower to render than Tux Racer, but that seems unlikely. So I think there's a bug. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_CA, LC_CTYPE=en_CA (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages torcs depends on: ii freeglut3 2.2.0-8 OpenGL Utility Toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-7 GCC support library ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-1 PNG library - runtime ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-6 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System Input extension li ii libxmu6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System miscellaneous util ii libxt6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii plib1.8.3 1.8.3-2 Portability Libraries: Run-time pa ii torcs-data 1.2.2-2 Base data files for TORCS game ii xlibmesa-gl [libgl1] 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Mesa 3D graphics library [XFree86] ii xlibmesa-glu [libglu1] 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Mesa OpenGL utility library [XFree ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
