Package: alsa-base Version: 1.0.7-2 Severity: wishlist It would be really neat if the installation scripts had an option to set up /etc/asound.conf to use dmix. A lot of people don't have hardware mixing, applications not being able to output ALSA sound due to some other application using it is definitely a FAQ on mailing lists. It also takes quite a lot of googling to find the dmix solution.
