I simply do not have sufficient understanding of the concepts involved to
know if the patch is correct, and I have no way to test it for myself.  It
would be a bad idea for me, as someone who is not the package maintainer, to
apply such a patch in a non-maintainer upload.

Since the patch is very small, it is my hope that the maintainer will find
time to apply this patch himself soon.
