Package: sks
Version: 1.1.4-2.1
Severity: normal
On the sks-devel mailing list, there are regular configuration
failures due to poor autotuning of database configuration parameters.
The latest thread starts here:
https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/sks-devel/2014-02/msg00039.html
As packagers, we should be automatically configuring DB_CONFIG where
possible, so that sks admins who don't understand bdb (or don't want
to understand bdb) aren't confronted with these sort of error
messages by default.
I confess i also don't understand bdb configuration particularly well,
or the tradeoffs involved with automated management of it. perhaps we
might want a symlink from /var/lib/sks/{DB,PTree}/DB_CONFIG to
/etc/sks/DB_CONFIG , and treat it as a configfile? Will bdb cope well
with a symlinked DB_CONFIG?
