There is no documentation on why specific volumes are shown and/or filtered, and googling I've found that I could use gconf-editor to modify apps/nautilus/desktop/volumes_visible to hide them. ¿Could it be possible to hide/unhide volumes using an option in the context menu for devices? It would be much easier for users to hide them than using the gconf-editor. Thanks Javier

The version of nautilus in buster/sid no longer implements icons on the desktop (see #888939) so this bug is no longer applicable in that version. smcv
