Package: esound
Version: 0.2.29-1
Severity: normal

I am repeatedly having my Gnome desktop hanging.

All the applications remain running and my processor usage is not
jumping to 100% so there didn't appear to be some sort of deadlock.

During one of these hang situations, I did an strace of gedit starting
and found that it was hanging reading /home/simon/.esd_auth.

When I killed esd it continued and my dekstop was mine again.

I have now switched off sound and things are no longer hanging but I
can't enjoy sound effects.

Thanks.
