Yes I think you can do it.

I am using kFreeBSD in spare time on:
- as VM on VirtualBox on main PC
- as kFreeBSD chroot on Kimsufi FreeBSD server IP 5.135.154.202
- native boot on Asus eeeBox Atom 270 dual core 2 GB RAM with 160GB SATA
disk
- native boot on IBM x3200 M2 Xeon Quad Core 4 GB RAM, SAS controller
2x72GB disk
