As programmer of burn software for optical media, i would like to add the constraint that the automounter should not grope drives which are in the progress of writing to CD or DVD-R media. Such burn runs will immediately yield a misburn. In the past i tried to contact the developers of hald and later of udev, in order to get on Linux some way of coordinating burn program and drive inspector. No success. It would be nice if your automounter would allow such a coordination, i.e. reservation of a drive by other applications, so that it gets neither inspected nor mounted. After the burn run, the reservation would be released and the automounter could inspect the result. (If i/o cache is not still holding the old content, that is.) Have a nice day :) Thomas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bsd-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
