Hah.  This is something I never would have thought to test for, and a
lot of my systems don't use a USB keyboard anyway.  It's surprising if
this were some risky optimisation that it didn't affect something more
critical and prevent the kernel from booting at all.

I agree, it should be fine with either clang-3.2/3.3.  Maybe Phoronix
can let us know if it gives a performance boost ;)
