Hi Robert, Please could you commit these two patches to d-i/debian-installer.git for me sometime. Perhaps if you already have some changes to make for the 9.1 kernel entering unstable.
The first patch will fix building the sid netboot images. The second is just code cleanup. The resulting images are still broken due to #711799, but having them built would be a good start.
