The July 12th d-i snapshot was taken for the Debian Wheezy beta1. It was released for all architectures at the same time (Linux, kFreeBSD). Unfortunately the fix for our grub-installer issue wasn't accepted in time. > [...] the installer that the world in general sees [...] > http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-kfreebsd-amd64/current/images/netboot-9/ That's not really where installer images are distributed from. Instead: http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ On that page, if you scroll past the beta1 section, you'll find links to weekly snapshots which carry the fixed version of grub-installer. If you want to use 'netboot'. you'll also find a mini.iso here built daily: http://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/kfreebsd-amd64/daily/netboot-9/ Although I think it might be better to use the slightly larger 'netinst' image, and fetch it via jigdo (so your caching proxy can cache the individual deb/udeb files it builds the ISO from) : http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/kfreebsd-amd64/jigdo-cd/ > ... even if you manage to work around that - it won't start X after boot! Yes it sounds like you are now seeing another known issue: http://bugs.debian.org/683833 This is a wild guess, but you may be able to fix it by creating an /etc/X11/xorg.conf file just containing something like: Section "InputClass" Identifier "mouse catchall" MatchIsPointer "on" EndSection Regards, -- Steven Chamberlain ste...@pyro.eu.org -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bsd-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
