I am also in favor of using the kFreeBSD 8.0 by default for squeeze. It brings especially the *at syscalls, which are broken in some conditions (chroot, mount bind) with our current implementation, and also the new USB stack support that is needed by libusb-1.0 (the port is still in progress). As soon as the final version 8.0 and the *at syscalls are fixed (in progress), we should probably upload it to unstable, and switch the build daemons and porter machines to it, in order to detect problems as early as possible. I am not sure there will be a squeeze_and_half, but we may anyway try to get an update through a new point version, as the kernel interface is pretty stable across minor versions on kFreeBSD.
