Hi, The res_mkquery() and res_send() functions have been deprecated in favour of res_nmkquery() and res_nsend() for long time and are being removed from Glibc for newer ABI versions. This particularly includes x86_64-*, powerpc64-*, *-gnu and *-k*bsd-gnu, but more are to come. libhesiod uses these functions in ./hesiod.c and thus won't build for these systems.
