I think this is related to #472846: busybox: Regression in pidof: no longer lists 'debian-installer' processes The reassign to netcfg is to have the following workaround their, that is because I assume that bugreport submitter wants to rerun network configuration, for e.g. preseeding a static IP address. kill $( ps -ef | grep dhclien[t] | cut -d' ' -f 2) please confirm working, as I haven't verified working the d-i environment.
