We're actually doing our own EFI Based BIOS. We considered using LinuxBIOS but there isn't any Intel support for it. Also there were other problems with using LinuxBIOS based on it using GPL instead of LGPL due to some licensed code we would have to include with it as well as Windows support.
We're currently adding our own version of CSM (Legacy Support), but other then a couple of minor packaging and program issues, Linux supports an EFI-Only BIOS very well. I'm of the opinion that EFI is an abomination in all aspects that relate to freedom (or even technical correctness), and that it should be avoided whenever possible. If the userbase you intend to support are owners of Apple boxes, I'd really recommend prompting them to install boot camp instead. -- Robert Millan <GPLv2> I know my rights; I want my phone call! <DRM> What use is a phone call, if you are unable to speak?
